I am excited to publish my first post in the Exercise category. I have managed to do a lot of exercise through horseback riding, but that does not count because it all goes in the horseback riding section!
Before COVID19 gave me an excuse to become a shut in, my kids were enrolled in Taekwondo. It is an amazing sport that helped improve their attitude and fitness. Because of its close contact nature, and the fact that class is basically a room full of heavily breathing people that have gathered from miles around, we chose to suspend their training. Right before that decision, my husband and I had jumped in on the fun and started adult classes. There is a huge difference between laughing at the kids while they are tortured with group exercise and being laughed at by the kids when it is your turn! Even the warmup exercises are enough to make everything burn and steal your breath.
With the end of the pandemic in sight, I thought it would be a great time to pick up my training at home. Our school has everything on YouTube to facilitate at home practice.
I set my timer for half an hour and repeated the form until time was up. I got so warm that I moved outside (in the middle of winter!!!) after ten minutes. It felt great! I could feel my balance improve tremendously, which is something I desperately need to bring my horseback riding back up to par.
The form only has 14 moves. I think it would be fun if you got up and tried it, too! If I can do it, surely you can! Post a reply if you got up and tried it out. I don’t usually like to prompt readers into replying, but fitness is something worth goading people for.
